How do I get to play?

We plan on using, thanks to a friend of mine named Rob, and frankly Mike, my fellow conspirator here, both of whom showed me this cool software, a program called:

Gametable v2.0 RC2

That you can find here:
http://gametable.galactanet.com/

for free,,, Yep 100% free. I am setting up this incredibly versatile software to run many of our micro-boardgames, some rpg adventures, and even some online minis games.

The bottom line is, start by getting the download. Post any problems you may be having with it right here, and we'll do what we need to get gaming going here.

Thsi is really cool stuff gang, and the price is definitely right.

I forgot to mention, and for the benefit of those that dislike typing...

I am going to try out Ventrillo for the chat room as well. IF you have headphones OR at least a microphone, feel free to download that software as well. Its also free.

I WILL NOT use ventrillo in any game where ALL of the players do not have it - that's just not fair, but if everyone has it, it will save a lot of typing.

Umm, wel I downloaded the file, and it does not run. So now what?!?
I think I might be missing some Java stuff.

I just can't resist doing some drive-by tech support. (It's a sickness) The java stuff is on the same page, the smaller link near the bottom middle. Or just click here:

Sorry, that's probably the most confusing download page on the entire internet, I forgot. Try here instead :D

We're going to try again tonight (Tuesday the 3rd) - a brief session at 8PM CST (9EST, 6PST)
that will probably go about an hour.

If you plan on attending, and have Game Table loaded, send me a private message and I will send you a grahics pack (that you'll need to put in your pogs folder). I want to test lag, and hook-up capability, not address graphics sharing as yet.

Hope to see some folks.

I wish I could, but I'll not be able to make it. Best of luck and I hope to make the next one. Tuesday is not a good night for me until Dec.9th.

So here's the problem.

I dowload the files, and extract them, and when I check the new folder I extract them to, it says the folder is empty. I have this problem with zipped files all the time.

So after having a shouting match with my computer, I'm still lost.

We discovered that the "problem" was a "Vista thing".... eveidently, you can not explode an archive unless you manually tell Vista to allow it to so do.

Don't get me started on Vista...

BUT, if you have Vista as an Op Sys, that's an important fix to know about, so I thought I'd post.

Chris:

Sticky this thread. I say this because it's an important resource material to the forum, if anyone wants the experience of playing games with the legendary Chris Clark they need to have this stuff.

;)
