Another fun story!

I purchased the dark cover version of this from Noble Knight recently. I was a little put out when I got it, because some guy had scrawled all over the front in a gold-inked pen! Then I read the inscription:

"To Gilbert: Worth it's weight in gold.

Gary Gygax"

That copy was autographed to, I am reasonably certain, Gilbert Milner, tyhen a buyer for War Games West, a now-defunct distributor out of (used to be out of) Albequerque, New Mexico.

Gilbert currently works for Lion Rampant in Canada, and is an old friend and trusted colleague of mine. Great guy too.

It might be another Gilbert, but I'm betting not.

Short form: Way cool dude. You happened upon a piece of gaming history there.
